Overview

The Marketing Associate collaborates with the Marketing and Communications Directors and other departments to bring the Y brand vision to life through creative, innovative campaigns that drive revenue and build awareness. Following Y-USA brand guidelines, the marketing manager designer designs print, digital, and video collateral for the entire organization and guides the effort to visually represent the Y as a leading non-profit.

Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Manage and schedule posts through Buffer across YMCA platforms.
  • Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages when appropriate; escalate issues to the Director of Marketing & Communications when necessary.
  • Engage with partner organizations, sponsors, and community accounts to strengthen digital relationships.
  • Develop and schedule social media content using Y-USA campaigns and custom graphics.
  • Track and analyze social media performance; assist with paid ad management through Meta.


Website Management

 

  • Maintain and update website content using Accrisoft Freedom Editor.
  • Create, edit, and publish pages for programs, events, and campaigns.
  • Keep navigation menus, homepage carousels, and event listings up to date.
  • Optimize pages for SEO and mobile viewing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to approve content before publishing.
  • Working knowledge of HTML is a plus.


Email Marketing & Newsletters

 

  • Design, schedule, and manage recurring newsletters in Marq, Canva, and MailChimp (examples: Happy Camper, Afterschool, Preschool, Thursday Things, Staff Newsletter).
  • Create one-off email campaigns with supporting graphics and updated contact lists.
  • Maintain MailChimp audience segmentation, tags, and unsubscribed contacts to manage limits.
  • Collaborate with Director of Marketing & Communications to review and approve final content.


Graphic Design & Visual Content

 

  • Design flyers, brochures, signage, stickers, digital billboards, banners, and branded materials using Canva, Marq, or Adobe software.
  • Create and adapt content for both print and digital use.
  • Maintain organized design files in shared drives and ensure accessibility for other departments.
  • Keep current with design and social media trends.
  • Ensure that all materials meet Y-USA brand standards and represent Utah’s diverse audiences.


Vendors & Purchasing

 

  • Assist with researching and obtaining quotes for marketing vendors and services.
  • Help process and code payments through Ramp.
  • Maintain updated subscription records and vendor contact info.
  • Support research into new tools and platforms as workflows evolve.


PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY

 

  • Capture photos and videos at YMCA events and programs as needed.
  • Organize and maintain cloud photo and video libraries.
  • Assist with editing photos and videos using Adobe Lightroom and related software.
  • Collaborate on creative direction for video projects that tell the Y’s story.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, degree progress or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, or graphic design.
  • Experience with digital platforms, including social media management tools (Buffer, Meta Business Suite) and email marketing (MailChimp).Proficiency in Canva, Marq, Adobe Creative Suite, and familiarity with Accrisoft Freedom/Word Press (or similar CMS)Excellent written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.Experience in SEO optimization, analytics tracking, and vendor coordination preferred.Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Ability to pass and obtain FBI Background check and fingerprint clearance.

Posted Salary Range

USD $18.41 - USD $23.02 /Hr.
